Whenever we visit a new place we always wish there was someone to tell us what to do and where to go, so we have designed this page to help you plan your stay. These are a few of our favourite places to visit in the area- we hope you like them too!
Our farm boasts its very own disc golf course! Disc golf is a great game for people of all ages and abilities and is the perfect way to enjoy the outdoors and take in the beautiful views of the river. We have a 9 hole short course for beginners and a 18 hole pro course for those wanting more of a challenge. Discs, maps and scorecards available from the Parlour Cafe.
A fascinating wildlife centre with a huge variety of animals, including a large butterfly house. Educational talks and interactive activities for children. Within 15 mins drive.
One of the largest collections of historic railway items in England. A working track with 10 steam and diesel locomotives, and over 80 carriages and wagons. Within 1 mile.
Elmwood Equestrian Centre offers daily and hourly rates for riding and lessons. Within walking distance.
Lets Go Bonkers
An excellent indoor play centre for children of all ages. Serves food and refreshments Within 1 mile.
A quirky old cinema located in Burnham on Crouch. Films show daily and it only costs £2.50 to get in!
Playgrounds and Skate Park
Burnham on Crouch has three modern playgrounds, a skate park and a BMX bike park for the more adventurous members of the family!
Walking and Cycling

Our farm has access to a variety of beautiful coastal foot and cycle paths, and from our gate you can walk to the picturesque quayside for an ice cream or pub lunch in about 15 minutes. We are happy to provide maps of the best routes in the local area.
The town of Danbury, about 20 minutes drive from here has a variety of beautiful walks and is well worth a visit! Explore Danbury Woods and have tea and cake on the green, visit Blakes Wood to see a spectacular display of bluebells in the spring, or stroll along the river for miles at Paper Mill Lock. All are dog friendly with well marked trails.
A medieval farmstead featuring two large timber framed barns dating back to the 13th Century. Built for the Knights Templar, they are two of the largest and finest Medieval Barns in Europe. The site features a walled garden, a medicinal herb garden and an orchard and can be explored via audio tour. There is also a lovely cafe where you can have lunch after walking around! Within 25 minutes drive.
Originally built by St Cedd on the foundations of a Roman fort in 654 AD. The Chapel is always open and is a very special place to visit. The Chapel is very remote, but there are beautiful walks along the coast in both directions, and birdwatching is a popular past time in the area. Within 15 mins drive.
Dedham and Flatford Mill
Dedham in Suffolk is one of our favourite towns to visit in the area. We recommend spending the morning walking along the river to Flatford Mill and stopping at the tea room for refreshments. Flatford Mill is an amazing historical site, and is featured (along with Willie Lott's cottage) in many of John Constables famous paintings. Once back in Dedham have lunch at the Sun Inn (our favourite pub in England!) or go for a romantic dinner at 'Le Talbooth' Restaurant! Within 1 hour drive.
Sailing and Golf
Burnham on Crouch is well known for sailing, and the clubs in town host a variety of events, including the famous 'Burnham Week' throughout the year. We are within walking distance of Creeksea Sailing Club, Burnham Sailing Club, The Royal Corinthian Yacht Club and the Royal Burnham Yacht Club.
We are within walking distance of Burnham on Crouch Golf Club, who offer discounts on green fees to guests staying at Creeksea Place Barns. We also recommend playing a round or two at The Warren in Danbury which is only 20 minutes drive from here.

A fun place to poke around for antique furniture and vintage goodies. Bring cash and make sure to haggle! Within 20 mins drive.
Beautiful Gardens within 15 minutes drive. Events held throughout the year.
By far the best beach in the area and well worth the drive! A gorgeous, wide, sandy beach that doesn't get too crowded- perfect for swimming and sunbathing! Dogs welcome. The town of Frinton also has lots of cafe's and shops. 1 hr 20 mins drive.
A beautiful city and a must see for first time visitors to the area! Approx. 1 hr 20 mins drive.
We are only 1 hour by direct train into the centre of London!
